Ligonier, PA Ligonier, PA Temporary Part-time Full-time Temporary Part-time Full-time From $15 an hour From $15 an hour $2,500 Sign-On Bonus Full Time $1,250 Sign-On Bonus Part Time Position Summary The Caregiver assists the licensed nursing staff by providing direct resident care related to Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADLs).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities 1.
Assists with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) consistent with resident support plan by assisting residents with eating and drinking, ambulating, transferring, toileting, bladder and bowel management, personal hygiene, bathing, dressing, turning and positioning, and documenting the care that was provided.
2.
Assists with Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADLs) consistent with resident support plan by assisting residents with doing laundry, using a telephone, caring for personal possessions, changing linens, obtaining and keeping clean, seasonal clothing, using a prosthetic device, keeping a safe, neat, clean room, and transporting to activities.
3.
Completes over-the-counter treatments per printed instructions in the ADL/treatment book by reading what treatment is ordered for the resident, providing the correct treatment in a timely manner, and documenting that the treatment was done (paper chart and EMR).
4.
Answers resident call bells for assistance by responding to the call bell in 4 minutes or less, knocking before entering resident room, prioritizing resident needs, addressing resident need, and turning call bell off.
5.
Assists residents in accessing health care by communicating important resident observations, changes in condition, findings, and problems to the Charge Nurse in a timely and proactive manner.
6.
Commits to high ethical standards by complying with the Code of Conduct, state and federal regulations, accreditation standards, Concordia policies, procedures, and safety standards, and HIPAA rules for maintaining confidentiality of resident/employee records and information.
Has a duty to report compliance concerns, significant legal risk questions, fraud, abuse, suspected or actual misconduct to a supervisor/manager or to the Corporate Compliance Officer.
7.
Prevents infections while providing care by employing adequate hand-washing, adhering to all aspects of transmission-based precautions, and complying with all infection control policies and procedures.
